Customer Review: Excellent
First and Foremostly, I respect and highly admire Mr. Martin. He is well educated in the field of Cults and Occults, and he is a gifted speaker(raconteur). This Book Lays out pretty much all of the beliefs of the Mormon religion and cleverly compares the religion to the scriptures. A GREAT Gift Idea for any Mormon you may know.

Saints (Chambers Compact Reference Series)
Focusing on saints, this is one of a series which provides a broad spectrum of knowledge encompassing science, the arts, religion and social issues. The information is presented in sections designed for ease of access.

Customer Review: A good overview of (primarily) Western saints
Whatever it defects may be, I think this is a good reference companion for the beginner to succinctly see the historical significance of Western saints, some well known to many, others not as well known.
Customer Review: Butler's Lives of the Saints it is not
This compact reference book could not be more compact or less reference worthy. Featuring brief biographies of more than 200 saints this book adds little to what can be found in more reference worthy collections. The biographies use the word "legend" a little too freely without backing up the reference with a resource. The kindest thing I can say about this collection is that some of the black and white art which graces its pages are more inspirational than the hagiographies.
